New Drawing Prizes

I’m pleased to announce two new drawing prizes:

1 Serenity Collector’s Edition widescreen DVD
1 Serenity widescreen Blu-ray Disc

Format preference will be given to the winners.  IE  If the winner of the Blu-ray Disc does not have a Blu-ray player, a DVD Collector’s Edition can be substituted.

Everyone who pledges or makes a donation is eligible for the prize drawing that will occur after May 23.  See this page for more information about the drawing.

In the paper…

Well, the Longview News Journal printed an article about Healthy Giving in the paper on January 27th.  Pretty cool, eh?  I’ll be scanning the article soon to post pictures.  Until then, you can view the article online here.

I was surprised when I was contacted by Angela Ward of the Longview News Journal about my pledge drive.  She learned about it through the press release I submitted online a week or so ago.  I had a chat with Ms. Ward on January 26th for a bit, and this article is a result of that interview.

I’m very excited to be included in the paper, and am grateful to the Longview News Journal for their part in helping promote this project.

The Healthy Giving Pledge Drive, a health challenge for charity undertaken by Longview resident Kazia Hodges, will begin Friday, January 23, 2009 and run until May 23, 2009. The proceeds from the drive will support The Kids Need to Read Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting childhood literacy.

The pledge drive will run for four months, and pledges are taken by per pound lost based on how much total weight is lost during the drive timeline. One time donations are also accepted. Anyone who pledges or donates is eligible for a prize drawing at the conclusion of the pledge drive. The prize package has been generously donated by the Austin Browncoats, primary sponsor of the Healthy Giving Pledge Drive. All pledges and donations are tax-deductible, and donation receipts are provided.
